Homemade Garlic Bread
Description
The recipe uses softened salted butter combined with olive oil, minced garlic, and chopped parsley whipped for even distribution and fluffy texture. This mixture is generously spread on halved French bread then sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Baking at 400°F allows the bread to crisp around the edges and the cheese to melt and brown lightly, enhancing flavor complexity.
The bread yields a balance of creamy garlic flavors with a hint of herbs and umami from Parmesan. The texture combines the crunch of the toasted crust and the softness of the buttered center.
Garlic bread can be sliced into portions before baking or served as halves to accompany pasta, soups, and salads. It is best served fresh from the oven to enjoy the warm, garlicky aroma.
This garlic bread can be prepared ahead in larger batches and frozen for convenient reheating. Slicing into ¾ to 1-inch thick pieces allows for single servings to be buttered and baked equally well.
