Homemade Garlic Bread Recipe – Using Sourdough!

This garlic bread uses sourdough slices generously spread with a soft, salted butter mixed with minced garlic and optional parsley for color. The bread is baked first at a moderate temperature then broiled to achieve a crispy, golden crust with a fragrant garlic aroma while keeping the interior tender. It provides a flavorful accompaniment or snack.

Description

The Homemade Garlic Bread recipe employs sourdough sliced into thick pieces or baguette slices as the base. A buttery spread is made by combining well-softened salted butter with minced garlic and optionally minced parsley to add freshness and a hint of color. This mixture is applied on both sides of the sourdough slices to ensure flavor penetration throughout the bread.

The bread is baked in a preheated 350°F oven for 5 to 7 minutes, then placed under the broiler for 3 to 4 minutes to develop a crisp, golden surface with some charred edges, depending on preference. This contrast of textures – crisp crust and soft center – highlights the garlic and butter flavors.

It is served warm, making a fitting side for meals needing savory bread or as a snack on its own. The recipe’s simplicity emphasizes the quality of sourdough and fresh ingredients for an aromatic experience.
