Homemade Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing

Homemade Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing blends plain whole milk Greek yogurt with garlic, parsley, onion, chives, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and buttermilk to create a tangy and herbaceous dressing. The thick yogurt base provides creaminess while fresh or dried herbs add classic ranch flavors. This dressing is easy to mix, requires refrigeration to blend flavors, and serves as a versatile condiment.

Description

This recipe combines creamy whole milk Greek yogurt with finely minced or powdered garlic, chopped fresh or dried parsley, diced onion or onion powder, chopped chives or dried variant, Dijon mustard, fresh lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and buttermilk to adjust consistency. The ingredients are shaken together in a jar or pulsed in a blender until evenly mixed and smooth.

The dressing offers a balance of tang from the lemon and yogurt, savory notes from herbs and mustard, and a smooth texture ideal for salads, dips, or dressings. The fresh herbs contribute bright, vegetal flavors characteristic of traditional ranch dressing, while the buttermilk thins it to a pourable consistency.

For best results, refrigerate the dressing for at least 30 minutes, preferably two hours, to allow the flavors to meld fully. The recipe is straightforward and adaptable using either fresh or dried herbs and fresh or powdered aromatics depending on availability.
