Homemade Hamburger Buns

Homemade Hamburger Buns - these soft rolls are so easy to make, taste amazing and go perfectly with burgers!

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1.5 cups milk warmed slightly
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 3 ¾ cups bread flour
  • ¼ cup sugar granulated white
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ teaspoon yeast

TOPPING

  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • ¼ cup sesame seeds

Instructions

BREAD MACHINE DIRECTIONS:

  1. Add all ingredients to a bread machine, and use the dough function.
  2. When done, punch down, and divide into 8 pieces.
  3. Place on a greased baking sheet, and set somewhere warm until puffy (about 30-45 minutes)
  4. Brush with melted butter (carefully), and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  5. Heat the oven to 375F, and bake for 12-15 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven, and allow to cool before slicing.
  7. Devour.

STAND MIXER DIRECTIONS:

  1. Add the dry ingredients into the bowl of your stand mixer.
  2. Blend together the wet ingredients and pour in.
  3. Mix with the paddle until a dough forms.
  4. Switch up for the dough hook and need until smooth and elastic.
  5. Transfer to bowl greased lightly with olive oil, cover and allow to rise to double in bulk (about an hour).
  6. Punch down, and divide into 8 pieces.

Notes

  • Substitutions/Additions
  • I use bread flour in this recipe. All-purpose flour can be used.
  • When using the bread machine, put the sugar and yeast on one side and the salt on the other (we need sugar to feed the yeast).
  • Heat the milk to 114 (ish) degrees F. This is luke warm. Too cold and the yeast won't activate as well. Too hot, and it will kill the yeast.
  • This recipe can be frozen after baking. Cover tightly with foil and wrap with plastic wrap. Freeze. To use - thaw at room temperature and use as normal.
