Homemade Ranch Dressing
Description
Homemade Ranch Dressing mixes a creamy base of mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk with a carefully balanced blend of dried parsley, dill, chives, and various onion and garlic seasonings. By whisking the spices into the dairy and adjusting the buttermilk amount, you control the thickness and intensity of the flavor. Optional dill pickle juice adds subtle tang and complexity. Refrigeration for at least an hour allows the flavors to develop fully. This versatile dressing serves well on salads, as a dip, or drizzled over vegetables, offering a classic familiar taste with a customizable texture.
Ingredients
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp parsley dried
- 1/2 tsp dill dried
- 1/2 tsp chives dried
- 3/4 tsp garlic powder
- 3/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp dried onion flakes
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 tbsp dill pickle juice (optional)
Instructions
- Mix the spices together, or use 2 tbsp of Dry Ranch seasoning mix.
- Combine the seasonings, mayo, sour cream, half of the buttermilk and pickle juice and whisk until smooth. Whisk in the remaining buttermilk until it is the desired thickness.
- Refrigerate for at least one hour up to overnight for flavors to combine and then serve chilled. Enjoy!
