Homemade Sausage Patties

Making homemade sausage patties is super simple! Enjoy them all or freeze some for later to enjoy a convenient breakfast side.

Ingredients
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground pepper
- ½ teaspoon sage
- ½ teaspoon ground thyme
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1 lb ground pork

Instructions
Form the patties:
- Measure out the seasonings into a medium bowl. Use a fork or whisk to combine them. Add the ground pork and mix well. You can also use a hand mixer to do the job.
- Shape the seasoned mixture into 12 balls. I usually divide the mixture in half, then in half, and each fourth into 3 even balls. Gently press them down with your hands.
Cook:
- Heat a large non-stick or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, cook the patties for 2 to 3 minutes per side, until they're cooked through. Transfer the cooked patties onto a paper towel-lined plate and repeat the process with the remaining sausage patties.
Store:
- Cooked sausage patties can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months in a freezer bag. Reheat cooked patties in the microwave for 30 seconds per side, a little longer if they're frozen.
Notes
- You can swap the brown sugar for maple syrup for maple-flavored sausage patties.
