Honey Garlic Barbecue Chicken Drumsticks
Description
Honey Garlic Barbecue Chicken Drumsticks combine classic barbecue flavors with a homemade sauce that highlights garlic and honey sweetness. The sauce includes a mix of ketchup, brown sugar, and spices such as oregano, basil, and smoked paprika, bringing a complex yet approachable flavor profile. Brushing the drumsticks with this sauce before and during baking at 375°F produces a tender texture inside with a flavorful, caramelized coating on the outside.
The use of liquid smoke is optional, and its inclusion or the smoked paprika helps impart that smoky barbecue essence without grilling. These drumsticks work well as a main dish for dinner, paired with standard barbecue sides or a simple salad. The gradual baking with sauce application helps avoid dryness while maximizing the flavor infusion through the cooking time.
To enhance the smoky taste, you can omit liquid smoke and rely on smoked paprika alone. Make sure to apply the sauce evenly and brush again halfway through baking to maintain a sticky glaze. Serve hot for the best texture and flavor experience.
