Honey Garlic Turkey Meatballs Recipe

These Honey Garlic Turkey Meatballs combine lean ground turkey with aromatic grated onion, garlic, and a blend of spices including chili powder and cumin. Coated lightly in a honey and apple cider vinegar glaze, the meatballs bake to tender, flavorful morsels with a balance of savory and sweet notes. This recipe provides a straightforward method to make moist baked meatballs ideal for a main dish or appetizer.

Description

The Honey Garlic Turkey Meatballs are prepared by mixing ground turkey with grated onion, minced garlic, panko breadcrumbs, fresh parsley, and spices such as chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and cayenne for gentle heat. Formed into medium-sized balls, they are baked until cooked through and then brushed with a honey and apple cider vinegar glaze to add a touch of sweetness and tang.

Baking at 350°F ensures the meatballs cook evenly while retaining moisture. The glaze adds a bright finish without overpowering the turkey’s mild flavor. These meatballs offer a pleasant balance of spices complemented by the natural sweetness of honey.

They can be served on their own, with rice, pasta, or alongside vegetables. This recipe is practical for preparing a batch of handheld meatballs suitable for meals or gatherings, with a flavor profile that leans on warm spices and honey glaze.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 pound ground turkey lean
  • ½ yellow onion grated
  • 4 garlic minced, cloves
  • ¼ cup panko breadcrumbs or regular panko breadcrumbs, whole wheat
  • ¼ cup parsley flat-leaf, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon cumin ground
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly coat a large baking sheet with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the turkey, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, parsley, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt and cayenne pepper. Stir to mix well.
  3. Using a scant 2 tablespoons per meatball (a medium cookie scoop works well), form meatballs by rolling the turkey mixture between the palms of your hands. Place the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs until just cooked through, about 15 minutes.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey and apple cider. Brush the meatballs with the honey mixture. Bake for additional 2 minutes. Serve.
