Honey Lime Jalapeno Salmon
Description
The salmon is seasoned with sea salt and cooked skin side up first to achieve a crisp browned exterior. It is then flipped to cook the skin side until crisp and the fish is light pink and firm. During the final minutes of cooking, a mixture of lime juice, honey, minced garlic, and sliced jalapeño is drizzled over the salmon, allowing the glaze to thicken slightly and coat the fish.
This preparation results in a salmon fillet that balances the natural richness of the fish with sweet honey, citrusy lime, aromatic garlic, and a subtle kick from jalapeño. The glaze enhances the salmon’s flavor without overpowering the texture.
Serving immediately ensures the glaze remains glossy and the salmon retains its crisp edges and moist interior.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp grapeseed oil
- ¼ tsp salt sea salt
- 1 lb salmon
- 4 tbsp lime juice
- 2 tbsp garlic minced or pressed
- 1 jalapeño 1/2 cut into thin rings
- 2 tbsp honey
Instructions
- Add lime juice, honey, garlic, and jalapeno into bowl and mix well.
- In a large nonstick skillet, heat oil on medium high until shimmery.
- Season the salmon with the sea salt. Add salmon to the hot pan, skin side up, and cook until crisp and browned on one side - about 7 minutes.
- Flip salmon onto skin, and cook five minutes.
- Drizzle honey jalapeno lime mixture over salmon as it cooks another 5-10 minutes, until salmon is firm and turns light pink. Spoon honey lime mixture that has dribbled off salmon back onto the top as needed.
- Serve immediately.
