Honey Mustard Baked Salmon
Description
Honey Mustard Baked Salmon brings together a marinade combining honey, Dijon mustard, garlic, lemon juice, and spices to complement the salmon's natural taste. Baking at 400°F for 12 minutes cooks the fish through while keeping it moist and tender. The mustard and honey glaze forms a slightly caramelized coating on the fillets. Garnishing with parsley adds a fresh herbal note that contrasts nicely with the savory, sweet glaze.
The dish works well served as an entrée alongside simple sides like steamed vegetables, rice, or a light salad. The marinade's balance between sweetness, acidity, and mild heat provides a well-rounded flavor profile that doesn't overpower the salmon.
Following the recommended baking times and temperatures will ensure evenly cooked salmon without dryness. The recipe advises adjusting oven temperature and time slightly to suit available cooking equipment.
Ingredients
Marinade:
- 2 cloves garlic
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 3 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 3 dashes black pepper ground
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- parsley for garnishing, chopped leaves
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (207°C).
- Combine all the ingredients for the Marinade together, whisk to combine well. Marinade the salmon for 15 minutes.
- Arrange the salmon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a baking tray. Add the Marinade to the top of the salmon fillets. Bake in the oven for 12 minutes.
- Remove from heat, scoop the juice and drizzle on top of the salmon. Garnish with the parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use the specified baking time and temperature for optimal salmon tenderness: 400°F for 12 minutes is recommended.
- You can adjust baking temperature slightly: 425°F for 10 minutes or 450°F for 8 minutes as alternatives.
- Drizzle the collected juices over the salmon after baking to boost moisture and flavor before serving.
