Honey Sriracha Lime Dressing

This Honey Sriracha Lime Dressing is a balanced blend of fresh lime juice, white wine vinegar, olive oil, honey, garlic, and Sriracha pepper sauce. The dressing offers a bright citrus acidity, sweetness, mild heat, and savory garlic, making it a lively accompaniment for salads or grilled dishes.

Description

The dressing is prepared by juicing fresh limes and combining the juice with white wine vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, honey, sugar, smashed and minced garlic, Sriracha, and salt. Whisking these ingredients creates a smooth, emulsified dressing that mixes tart, sweet, and spicy flavors. The lime juice provides freshness and brightness, while the honey and sugar balance the heat of the Sriracha. The garlic adds depth and pungency.

This dressing can be used to enhance leafy green salads, grilled vegetables, chicken, or seafood dishes. The combination of acidity and spice helps to brighten and complement rich or mild foods.

Substitutions mentioned include using lemon juice instead of lime and rice vinegar instead of white wine vinegar. Oils such as avocado or grapeseed can be used in place of olive oil for variation. Using two limes is suggested to ensure enough juice, as limes are typically small.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 3 TBSP lime juice fresh
  • 4-5 TBSP white wine vinegar
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 TBSP honey
  • 1 TBSP sugar or extra honey
  • 1 clove garlic (smashed and minced)
  • 1 tsp sriracha plus extra to taste
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Roll your lime on the countertop to help release the juices, then slice and squeeze into a small bowl. Measure out 3 TBSP and set aside.
  2. Combine citrus juice with vinegar, oil, honey, sugar, garlic, Sriracha, and salt and whisk to incorporate. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use two limes to ensure you measure at least 3 tablespoons of fresh lime juice.
  • Fresh lemon juice can substitute for lime juice with a slightly different but still bright flavor.
  • Rice vinegar may be used instead of white wine vinegar to alter acidity.
  • Avocado or grape seed oil can replace olive oil as a neutral oil for this dressing.
