Honeysuckle Simple Syrup

Honeysuckle Simple Syrup is a floral, lightly sweet syrup made by simmering freshly cleaned honeysuckle flowers with sugar, water, and a strip of navel orange peel. After steeping to extract aroma and flavor, the syrup is strained and chilled, suitable for use in cocktails, beverages, or desserts.

Description

This syrup starts by rinsing honeysuckle flowers to remove any impurities. The flowers are then simmered together with sugar, water, and organic, unwaxed navel orange peel to infuse the syrup with a delicate floral aroma and citrus brightness. After a short simmering period, the mixture is removed from heat and allowed to steep for an hour to deepen the infusion.

Once steeped, the syrup is strained through a mesh sieve to remove flowers and peel, yielding a clear, fragrant syrup with a balance of sweetness and floral notes. It is then refrigerated and kept cold to preserve freshness for up to one month.

This honeysuckle syrup is ideal for flavoring drinks, lemonades, cocktails, or for drizzling over desserts to add a subtle floral sweetness with a hint of orange aroma.
