Hooters Wings

Hooters Wings are seasoned and floured chicken wings, deep-fried until golden and crispy, then coated in a spicy, buttery sauce. The wings are first coated with a seasoned flour mixture and chilled before frying. The sauce combines butter, Tabasco, brown sugar, paprika, and other spices for a balanced heat and sweetness. This recipe delivers a flavorful, sauced wing perfect for serving immediately to retain crispness.

Description

This recipe for Hooters Wings starts with cutting chicken wings into drumettes and flappers, then coating them in a seasoned mixture of whole wheat and all-purpose flours along with salt, paprika, and cayenne pepper. The coated wings are refrigerated for 90 minutes, which helps the flour adhere and develop texture during frying.

The wings are deep-fried to a golden brown at 375°F, ensuring a crispy exterior while maintaining juicy meat inside. After frying, the wings are drained and tossed in a sauce made by melting butter and combining it with Tabasco sauce, brown sugar, paprika, salt, balsamic vinegar, cayenne pepper, and chili sauce. This sauce offers a blend of heat, sweetness, and tang.

Hooters Wings are best served immediately after saucing to enjoy the contrast of crispy coating and flavorful glaze. The recipe suggests pairing with blue cheese dressing to complement the spicy wings, adding a cooling element to the dish.
