Hot Buttered Bourbon
Description
This recipe features a homemade buttered bourbon batter created by thoroughly mixing softened unsalted butter with brown sugar, maple syrup, and a precise blend of spices including cinnamon, freshly grated nutmeg, allspice, and a pinch of salt. This mixture can be stored chilled for convenience.
To prepare the drink, poured bourbon is combined with the buttered mixture and filled with boiling water, whisked until the butter is fully melted and integrated, resulting in a smooth, warm beverage. Whipped cream added on top adds a light, creamy finish that balances the richness and spices.
Hot Buttered Bourbon is suitable as an evening or after-dinner drink in colder seasons, offering a soothing, indulgent flavor profile. The controlled proportion of spices gives it warmth without overpowering the bourbon’s character.
