Hot Cheesy Philly Cheesesteak Dip
Description
This dip starts with a quick sear of ribeye steak to medium rare, ensuring juicy, tender meat chunks. The same pan is used to soften diced onions and green bell peppers in butter, melding flavors while keeping vegetables tender. The softened onion and pepper mix is cooled before combining with cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and seasoning. This creamy base balances savory steak and vegetables.
Diced steak and provolone cheese are folded into the creamy mixture which is then placed in a greased baking dish. The remaining cheese tops the dip before baking at 375°F until the top turns golden brown and bubbly. The result is a thick dip with rich, cheesy, meaty flavors and a soft texture punctuated by tender steak bits and cooked vegetables.
Serve the dip warm with sliced hoagie rolls, toasted bread, or tortilla chips for scooping. The recipe notes that using steak or leftover steak enhances flavor, with roast beef as an easier alternative if pressed for time.
Use ribeye or leftover steak for best flavor and texture. For a quick option, substitute 6 ounces deli roast beef.Serve the dip hot for optimal melty texture and flavor.Pairs well with sliced hoagie rolls, bread, or tortilla chips for dipping.
