How to Cook Brats in the Oven
Description
To prepare oven-baked brats, preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup and space the uncooked bratwurst evenly so they aren’t touching. Bake them for 10 minutes initially to start cooking through and brown the bottom side.
After 10 minutes, flip the bratwursts to brown the opposite side, then continue baking for an additional 5 to 7 minutes. The sausages are done when they reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit and show a browned, cooked exterior. Allow them to cool slightly before serving.
This method provides an alternative to grilling or boiling, conveniently cooking brats fully with a browned surface and juicy interior using the oven alone.
Ingredients
- 6 bratwurst uncooked
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Tin a baking sheet with foil and place the uncooked bratwurst (make sure that they are not touching).
- Bake for 10 minutes. Then flip the bratwurst and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until the bratwursts are brown and have reached an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.
- Allow the bratwurst to cool slightly and then they are ready to enjoy!
