How to Cook Rice in a Crock Pot

This recipe details cooking converted white rice in a crock pot using water or broth. The rice absorbs the liquid as it simmers on high heat for several hours, with occasional stirring to keep it fluffy. Butter or cooking spray prevents sticking while salt and pepper season to taste. It yields tender, separate grains without stovetop attention.

Description

How to Cook Rice in a Crock Pot uses precisely measured converted white rice and water or broth combined in a buttered crock pot. The lid keeps moisture in while the rice cooks on high heat for 2 to 3 hours. Regular stirring every 20 to 30 minutes ensures even cooking and prevents sticking or clumping. Once the liquid is absorbed, the rice reaches a soft but not mushy texture. Seasoning with salt and pepper finishes the dish.

This slow cooker method is useful when you want hands-off rice preparation alongside other dishes, especially for batch cooking or meal prep. The rice can accompany stews, curries, or serve as a base for vegetables and proteins.
