Share:
Ingredients
- 1 Medium Swede/Rutabaga
- 3 Tsp Light I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter
- 1 Tsp thyme
- salt & pepper
Kitchen Gadgets
- Microwave
- Steamer basket
Instructions
- Place one tablespoon of water in the bottom of your steamer basket.
- Using a sharp kitchen knife cut off the ends of your swede. Then cut into large slices and cut those large slices into medium cubes. Then add to the steamer basket.
- Add your seasonings and mix with your hands for an even coating.
- Place the lid on the steamer and then place in the microwave.
- Microwave for 5 minutes.
- Stir, add butter on top, place lid back on steamer basket and microwave for a further 5 minutes.
- Then do the fork test to make sure your swede is fork tender. If not cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Load into a serving dish and serve.
Notes
- Optional – I love my swede with butter, but it is totally optional. Though if you are not adding butter, you will still need to stir the swede at 5 minutes.
