Roasted Garlic In The Microwave
Report
Roasting a head of garlic doesn’t get any better or any easier than roasted garlic in the microwave. So simple that my 7 year old makes it for me!
Share:
Ingredients
- 3 garlic bulbs
- 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- salt & pepper optional
Kitchen Gadgets
- Microwave
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl add water until enough to cover the bottoms of some garlic bulbs then slice the tops off the garlic bulbs.
- Next drizzle extra virgin olive oil over the tops of them. Then season with salt and pepper.
- Place the garlic into the bowl, carefully making sure the bottom is submerged with water and that they don’t fall over.
- Place the bowl carefully into the microwave making sure you don’t spill the water, or the garlic subsides.
- Microwave for 8 minutes before checking to make sure the garlic cloves are soft.
- Put the bowl to one side and allow the garlic to cool before squeezing the garlic cloves from the bulb.
- Store in a plastic container once cool.
Notes
- Optional – I recommend adding salt and pepper to the garlic for extra flavour, but this is optional. You can also add oregano.
- Quantity – You can do as few or as many garlic bulbs that will fit in your bowl without being overcrowded. We opted for 3 that made a LOT.
- Meals. I also found that this made enough garlic cloves to feed us for 24 meals. Though it depends how much garlic you like in your recipes.
- Thanks for reading roasted garlic in microwave on Recipe This. We have many more microwave recipes for you to check out next. Though if you would like ideas of things to make with roasted garlic, I recommend you try our air fryer garlic bread.
