How To Freeze Cauliflower

Ingredients

  • 1 cauliflower head
  • 1 large pot water boiling
  • 1 large bowl water ice

Instructions

  1. Wash the cauliflower and cut it in half, then quarters. Remove the florets and cut them into smaller pieces (if necessary).
  2. Begin the blanching process. Bring a large pot of water to boil and add the cauliflower. Let it simmer for about 1-2 minutes then remove from the pot using a slotted spoon or skimmer.
  3. Transfer the cauliflower immediately to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process and let it chill for about 2 minutes.
  4. Drain the cauliflower and gently pat the florets dry to remove any extra moisture.
  5. Spread the cauliflower across a baking sheet and freeze for 1-2 hours.
  6. Transfer the frozen cauliflower to freezer bags or containers and freeze for several months.

Notes

  • The stand up Stasher Bags (silicone storage bags) are my favorite for storing frozen cauliflower as you can fit more in them than the regular sandwich bags.
