How to Freeze Fruit

Report
Freezing Fruit is very easy to do. Freeze fresh fruit for smoothies, baked goods, and yogurt parfaits.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 cup Fresh fruit

Instructions

  1. Wash all the fruit thoroughly and allow it to dry completely.
  2. Cut and slice the fruit based on how you place to use it.  I generally leave small berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries) whole and slice larger pieces of fruit (strawberries, peaches, plums, etc).
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.  Arrange the fruit in a single layer on top of the parchment paper.  It’s ok if the fruit is touching slightly but don’t pile the fruit on the baking sheet.
  4. Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 3-4 hours until the fruit is frozen solid.  You can leave the fruit in the freezer overnight but definitely remove them within a day so that the fruit does not get freezer burn.
  5. Place the fruit in a freezer bag, remove as much air a possible, seal tightly and freeze.
  6. Fruit can be stored in the freezer for 3-6 months.  No need to thaw the fruit before using it!

Notes

  • I love freezing fruit to use in smoothies and yogurt parfaits!
