How to hard boil eggs in a Crock Pot
Description
Placing a single layer of large eggs in the Crock Pot and submerging them in cool water allows for slow, even cooking. The cooking time varies with heat setting: about 2 1/2 hours on high or 4 1/2 hours on low. This gentle method cooks eggs thoroughly without direct boiling.
After cooking, transferring the eggs immediately to an ice water bath cools them quickly, preventing overcooking and making shells easier to remove. The eggs can then be stored in the refrigerator or peeled right away.
The number of eggs depends on the size of the Crock Pot; a 7-quart slow cooker comfortably fits 12 medium to large eggs in one layer, ensuring even cooking.
