How to Make Hot Sauce (Easy Hot Sauce Recipe)
Description
The hot sauce is made by washing and removing stems (and optionally seeds) from fresh chili peppers chosen according to desired spiciness. The peppers are blended with vinegar and salt to create a smooth mixture. The blend is then boiled briefly and simmered to meld flavors and thicken the sauce.
Once cooled, the sauce can be poured directly into bottles or strained to remove pulp for a thinner texture. This straightforward method produces a customizable hot sauce suitable for different heat preferences depending on the pepper selection.
Ingredients
- 1 pound Chili pepper fresh, of choice
- ½ - 1 cup vinegar
- 1/2-1 tablespoon salt
Instructions
- Wash the peppers and remove the stems. Remove the seeds, if desired. Add them to a food processor along with the vinegar and salt and process until smooth.
- Add the mixture to a pot and bring to a quick boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes to allow the flavors to develop.
- Remove from heat and cool. Add them to serving bottles, or strain out the pulp first for a much thinner sauce and bottle.
- Makes about 2 cups or so of hot sauce.
