Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon sliced fresh turmeric root or ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoon sliced fresh ginger root or ½ teaspoon ginger powder
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon peel
- Few whole black pepper or ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder
- Few cinnamon sticks or ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 2 cups filtered water
- Lemon juice as needed
- honey as needed

Instructions
- Crush the ginger root slices, black pepper, and cinnamon separately or together. Skip this step if using ground or dried versions.
- Heat water in a pot or saucepan. Add turmeric slices, along with lemon peels, crushed ginger, and crushed black pepper and cinnamon.
- Cover the lid and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Once done, strain the tea through a fine sieve into cups.
- Add lemon juice and honey as needed and mix well.
Notes
- Fresh turmeric and ginger add a vibrant flavor. However, ground or dried versions could be used as well.
- A little fat like coconut oil, almond oil or even butter could be added to the drink.
- Storage: It can be easily stored for 2-3 days in the refrigerator. Keep the strained tea in an airtight jar. Just before serving, heat it up, mix lemon juice and honey.
