How to Reheat Meatloaf

This guide explains multiple methods for reheating precooked meatloaf slices, including oven, air fryer, toaster oven, and microwave techniques. Each method focuses on retaining moisture and warming the meatloaf evenly for a convenient leftover meal solution.

Description

Reheating meatloaf can be done effectively using several appliances. In the oven, slices are placed in a dish, sprinkled with beef broth to maintain juiciness, and covered with foil at 250ºF for 20-25 minutes. The air fryer method involves spraying oil on both sides and heating at 350ºF for 4-5 minutes on parchment-lined baskets. Toaster ovens reheat slices quickly at 350ºF, flipping halfway through a 5-minute total time, while using a rack to catch drippings helps keep the meatloaf from steaming. The microwave method suggests placing slices in a single layer covered with a damp paper towel to prevent drying.

These varied methods offer flexibility depending on kitchen equipment and time availability. The use of beef broth or oil spray helps maintain moisture, while covering or using damp paper towels prevents drying out. Adjust reheating time to personal preference and slice thickness.

How To Reheat Meatloaf in the Oven

  2. Place your leftover meatloaf slices in a small shallow dish.
  3. Sprinkle each piece with 1 tablespoon of beef broth.
  4. Cover the dish with aluminum foil, place it in the centre of your oven and cook for 20-25 minutes.

How to Reheat Meatloaf in the Air Fryer

  1. Turn the air fryer to 350ºF/175ºC
  2. Line the basket of the air fryer with baking paper or parchment paper.
  3. Spray both sides of your meatloaf slices with oil spray.
  4. Reheat the slices for 4-5 minutes.

How to reheat Meatloaf in a Toaster Oven

  1. Preheat the toaster oven to 350ºF/175ºC.
  2. Place the meatloaf slices on a metal rack in the toaster oven and place a baking sheet underneath to catch any fat that drips.
  3. Heat the slices for 3 minutes, flip them, and heat for an additional 2 minutes.

How to Reheat Meatloaf in the Microwave

  1. Place the meatloaf slices in a single layer on a microwave-safe dish.
  2. Cover the plate with a sheet of damp kitchen paper/paper towel.
  3. Reheat the pieces for 1 minute, carefully remove the dish from the microwave and turn the meatloaf over.
  4. Put the dish back in the microwave and heat for 1 minute more or until it's hot all the way through.
  5. If it's not hot enough yet, place it back in the microwave and reheat in 30-second increments at 50% power.

How to Reheat Meatloaf in a skillet or frying pan

  1. Place your skillet/frying pan over medium-low heat, add 1 tablespoon of oil, and ¼ cup of beef broth.
  2. Add the meatloaf slices to the pan and cook for 2 minutes over medium-low heat. Flip the slices and cook for a further 2 minutes.
  3. Turn up the heat so any remaining liquid evaporates and the outside of your slices crisp and firm slightly.

How To Reheat Meatloaf in a steamer basket

  1. Add 2"/5cm of water to your pan and bring it to a simmer.
  2. Spray the slices of meatloaf with oil to stop them from sticking and place them in a single layer in the steamer basket.
  3. Place the basket over the simmering water ensuring the bottom isn't touching the water, then cover and steam for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Remove the meatloaf slices and place them on a sheet of kitchen paper/paper towel to remove excess water.
