How To Roast Chickpeas
Description
How To Roast Chickpeas focuses on turning cooked or canned chickpeas into a crisp, spiced snack. The recipe starts by thoroughly drying the chickpeas to ensure roasting yields maximum crunch without sogginess. Tossing them lightly with olive oil and a combination of salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder adds layered savory notes to their natural nuttiness.
Baking at 425 degrees Fahrenheit on a single-layered baking sheet and stirring halfway through ensures evenly roasted chickpeas with a golden, crunchy texture outside and a slightly tender inside.
This snack can be enjoyed as is or used to add texture and flavor to salads and grain bowls. Its simplicity lets the spices shine alongside the chickpeas’ hearty body, making it a versatile, homemade crunchy treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups chickpeas if canned, drain and rinse, cooked
- 1-2 teaspoons olive oil or olive oil spray/mist
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
