Impossible Taco Pie Recipe

Impossible Taco Pie combines seasoned ground beef with tomatoes and green chiles layered under a rich cheddar cheese topping and a scrambled egg-Bisquick batter crust. Baking at 400ºF creates a set filling with a golden crust that holds together for easy slicing. This savory, pie-style casserole blends traditional taco flavors into a convenient, sliceable dish suitable for casual meals and potlucks.

Description

The Impossible Taco Pie Recipe builds a hearty base of lean ground beef browned with taco seasoning blended into drained tomatoes and green chiles. This meat mixture is spread evenly in a deep-dish pie plate and topped with shredded cheddar cheese to provide a creamy, melted layer. A mixture of Bisquick, milk, and eggs is poured over before baking at 400ºF. The heat sets the egg batter into a golden, firm crust that holds the filling together for neat slices. The combination of spiced beef, melted cheese, and a fluffy crust adds texture contrast and comfort-style flavor to the dish.

Baking until the center is fully set and golden on top ensures the pie slices cleanly. This recipe serves well as a warm main dish for dinner or casual gatherings where taco-flavored dishes are favored without assembling individual tacos. Its sliceable form makes serving easier and leftovers more manageable.

Leftover pie stores up to three days in the refrigerator, and the calories per serving are estimated from dividing the pie into eight slices. Nutritional content varies depending on ingredient brands and quantities, so exact dietary analysis should be consulted with a professional if needed.

  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the middle of the pie is set and the top is golden brown. A knife inserted in the center should come out clean. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Store any leftover pie in the refrigerator for up to three days to maintain freshness.
  • Calorie estimates assume the pie is cut into eight slices; actual calories may vary by ingredient brands.
  • To check doneness, ensure a knife inserted in the center comes out clean before serving.
