Instant Pot Apple Cider Recipe
Description
The Instant Pot Apple Cider is made by combining cubed apples of sweet varieties, sliced orange without seeds, cinnamon sticks or ground cinnamon, cloves, fresh ginger for a mild bite, black pepper for subtle heat, and optional added sweetness like dates or sugar. Water is added to allow pressure cooking, which extracts and melds flavors efficiently in 11 minutes at high pressure.
After cooking and natural pressure release, the mixture is strained through a sieve or strainer with pressing to extract a flavorful liquid with fine pulp. This cider offers a warm spiced flavor with mild citrus brightness and a touch of peppery warmth. It can be enjoyed hot or cold depending on preference.
The recipe also provides stovetop instructions for a longer simmer if an Instant Pot is not available. Leftover fruit pulp can be repurposed for smoothies or baking after removing peel and spices, extending the use of ingredients and reducing waste.
