Ingredients
- 1 cup (200g) brown Basmati rice , rinsed & well-drained
- 1 cup (250ml) cold water or unsalted chicken stock
- salt , if preferred

Instructions
- Add Brown Basmati Rice in Instant Pot: Add 1 cup (200g) brown basmati rice in Instant Pot. Pour in 1 cup (250ml) cold water. Give it a few swirls and make sure all the rice is fully submerged in the cooking liquid.
- Pressure Cook Brown Basmati Rice: Close the lid. Then, turn Venting Knob to Sealing Position. Pressure Cook at High Pressure for 18 minutes, then Natural Release for 10 minutes. Release the remaining pressure by turning Venting Knob to Venting Position. Open the lid carefully.
- Fluff and Serve: Fluff brown basmati rice with a fork or spoon. Then, taste and season with salt if you like. Serve and enjoy the rice with your delicious main and side dishes.Amy + Jacky's Tips! - Rinse Brown Basmati Rice: Make sure to drain well after you rinse your rice to avoid throwing off the Rice Water ratio.
- Rice Water Ratio: According to our experiments, different brands of brown basmati rice may need different amounts of water. So, make sure you adjust the Rice Water Ratio according to your brand and texture preferences.
- Rice Texture: With the above Rice to Water ratio, the brown basmati rice will come out a bit chewy. The rule is the more liquid you use, the softer the rice.
