Instant Pot Brown Rice
Description
Instant Pot Brown Rice combines simple ingredients—brown rice, water, and garlic salt—into a straightforward pressure-cooked dish. The method uses the Instant Pot's manual setting for 22 minutes, followed by natural pressure release. This gentle cooking process softens the whole grains while preserving texture and infusing a light garlic salt seasoning. Producing fluffy rice that holds its shape well, this recipe is suited for serving alongside a variety of meals or as a base for bowls.
The flavor hinges on the garlic salt, which adds a savory undertone without overwhelming the rice. The texture is tender yet slightly chewy, characteristic of properly cooked brown rice.
After cooking, fluffing the rice with a fork helps separate the grains. If any excess moisture remains, letting the rice sit uncovered for 5-10 minutes allows steam to evaporate, improving the final texture before serving.
