Instant Pot Frito Chili Pie

Report
This Instant Pot Frito Chili Pie brings together ground beef cooked with tomatoes, spices, and broth, finished quickly under pressure for rich chili flavors. Served over crunchy Frito corn chips and topped with shredded cheddar cheese, the dish creates a contrast between warm, savory chili and crisp chips. Using the Instant Pot shortens cooking time while melding the flavors, making it practical for hearty, flavorful meals.

Description

The recipe begins by browning ground beef directly in the Instant Pot, then adding diced onion, canned tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, beef broth, and seasonings including garlic salt, chili powder, cumin, and black pepper. Pressurized cooking for five minutes combines and intensifies the spices and tomato flavors. After a quick release, the chili mixture is stirred to unify flavors and textures.

Serving consists of spooning the warm chili over a bed of crunchy Frito corn chips, with a generous topping of shredded cheddar cheese to melt slightly over the hot chili. This combination offers a layered experience of textures and a balance of spicy and savory elements.

The recipe encourages adding toppings like sour cream, diced red onions, or sliced jalapeños to complement and customize the chili pie.
