Instant Pot Ground Beef Stroganoff

This Instant Pot Ground Beef Stroganoff features ground beef and onions cooked under pressure with egg noodles, beef broth, and cream of mushroom soup, finished with sour cream for a creamy, rich sauce. The dish offers a quick, comforting alternative to traditional stroganoff using accessible ingredients and a one-pot method.

Description

Starting with sautéing ground beef, minced onion, and garlic in the Instant Pot, the beef is browned and combined with flour to help thicken the sauce. Beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, salt, and pepper are stirred in before adding uncooked egg noodles directly into the pot. The mixture is cooked under high pressure for eight minutes, followed by a brief natural and quick pressure release.

After pressure cooking, sour cream is stirred in to introduce a tangy richness and smooth texture, balancing the savory flavors of beef and mushrooms. The result is a saucy dish where noodles tenderly absorb the flavors. The convenient, fast-cooking approach suits busy cooks looking for a hearty meal without extensive stove time.

A note advises using less beef broth if a thicker sauce is preferred, indicating how liquid proportions affect consistency. This stroganoff serves well as a main dish accompanied by simple sides.
