Instant Pot Ham

This Instant Pot Ham recipe provides a simple way to prepare a spiral, bone-in ham with a sweet and tangy glaze made from orange marmalade, brown sugar, orange juice, and Dijon mustard. The ham is cooked under pressure to keep it moist and flavorful, while the glaze caramelizes nicely. Black pepper adds a mild spice balance to the sweetness. It’s a straightforward method to serve warm glazed ham for holiday meals or family dinners.

Description

The Instant Pot Ham recipe highlights a spiral, bone-in ham being coated with a glaze of orange marmalade, brown sugar, orange juice, mustard, and black pepper, combining sweetness and slight tang. Cooking the ham with the fat side up in the pressure cooker allows even heat distribution and moisture retention. After a 15-minute meat setting cooking cycle and natural pressure release, the ham is further glazed with the reserved sauce for added flavor sheen. The glaze imparts a sticky exterior that contrasts the tender, juicy ham inside.

The approach is both hands-off and effective for ensuring juicy meat with an appetizing crust. The ham served warm can be a centerpiece for special occasions. Practical details include storing leftovers in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to four days or freezing them for two to three months, suitable for later use in casseroles or soups.
