Instant Pot Honey Bourbon Chicken Recipe

Report
Instant Pot Honey Bourbon Chicken cooks bite-sized chicken pieces in a pressure cooker with teriyaki sauce, chicken broth or bourbon, honey, brown sugar, and aromatics. A cornstarch slurry is added after pressure cooking to thicken the sauce for a sticky finish, served best over rice.

Description

This recipe produces chicken pieces infused with the sweet and savory notes of teriyaki, honey, and brown sugar complemented by garlic and onion flavorings. Cooking in an Instant Pot allows the chicken to become tender quickly, soaking in the sauce ingredients under pressure.

After pressure cooking, a cornstarch and water mixture is stirred in and sauteed until the sauce thickens to a glossy coating that clings to the chicken. This ensures a balanced texture and a rich consistency suitable for serving over rice.

This dish is ideal for a comforting meal where the sticky sauce highlights the tender chicken pieces, and serving on rice helps balance the sweet and savory flavors. The choice between chicken broth or bourbon offers subtle differences in depth and aroma.
