Instant Pot Lobster Tails

Instant Pot Lobster Tails are prepared by butterflying shell-on lobster tails, seasoning them with a spice mix including garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and salt, then cooking under high pressure for one minute. This method steams the lobster quickly, resulting in tender, flavorful meat enhanced by melted butter served alongside.

Description

This recipe uses the Instant Pot to steam lobster tails efficiently. The shells are cut open along the top, creating a butterfly effect that lifts the meat onto the shell. After deveining and cleaning, the lobster meat is seasoned with a blend of salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika for a smoky, savory profile. Butter is divided and placed over the meat before cooking to add richness.

The tails are arranged on the trivet inside the Instant Pot over water, sealed, and pressure cooked for just one minute, followed by a quick release. This brief cooking heats the lobster through while maintaining tenderness without overcooking. The cooked lobster tails are served with melted butter, lemon wedges, and optional fresh parsley garnish, emphasizing clean flavors that complement the natural sweetness of the lobster.
