Instant Pot No Knead Dinner Rolls
Description
This recipe leverages the Instant Pot’s warm environment to activate yeast and let the dough rise without traditional kneading. After melting butter into warmed milk and water, sugar and yeast are mixed in and allowed to bubble, indicating fermentation. Flour and salt are then added to form a somewhat elastic dough. The dough rests covered in the Instant Pot for about an hour, rising thoroughly.
Once risen, the dough is portioned into ten balls placed in a baking dish to rise again briefly. Brushing the rolls with a blend of heavy cream and egg yolk before baking imparts a golden, slightly glossy crust. Baking at 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes finishes the rolls, delivering a soft interior with a light crust.
These dinner rolls are versatile, soft, and perfect alongside soups, salads, or as sandwich bread. They require no kneading, making them easier to prepare while still yielding a traditional roll texture and appearance.
Care should be taken not to overheat liquids when activating yeast, and preheating the oven properly is important to achieve even browning. Letting yeast activate fully ensures good rise and texture.
