This recipe prepares shredded chicken by placing boneless skinless chicken breasts into an Instant Pot along with chicken broth. The pressure cooker is set to manual high pressure for 12 minutes to cook the chicken through. After cooking, the pressure is allowed to release naturally for 10 minutes before manually releasing any remaining steam. The cooked chicken is then removed and shredded using two forks, combining with some of the leftover broth to keep it moist. This technique produces tender, juicy shredded chicken suitable for multiple recipes.

  • 1.5 lb chicken breast boneless skinless
  • 2 cups chicken broth or chicken bone broth

Instructions

  1. Place boneless skinless chicken breasts into the Instant Pot and pour chicken broth into the pot with the chicken
  2. Close the Instant Pot and set the nozzle to sealing
  3. Set the Insant Pot to manual high pressure for 12 minutes 
  4. Allow the Instant Pot to come to pressure and cook for 12 minutes
  5. After the Instant Pot beeps all the pressure to relase naturally for 10 minutes (do not touch the nozzle)
  6. After 10 minutes manually release the pressure by switching the nozzle to releasing
  7. Remove the chicken from the Instant Pot and shred using two forks
  8. Pour some of the leftover chicken broth from the IP over the shredded chicken and toss to mix in
  9. Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days
