Instant Pot Sloppy Joes

Report
Instant Pot Sloppy Joes use ground beef or turkey cooked with ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, and broth, then pressure-cooked to blend the flavors quickly. The result is a tangy and sweet meat sauce, served on hamburger buns for a classic sandwich. The pressure cooker speeds up the process while tenderizing the meat and infusing the sauce.

Description

This Instant Pot Sloppy Joes recipe starts by browning ground beef or turkey in sauté mode, draining excess fat before adding ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, and water or beef broth. After stirring to combine, the pressure cooker lid is sealed and the mixture is cooked at high pressure for 5 minutes. A quick release of pressure follows, and the mixture is stirred and served hot on hamburger buns.

The sauce is tangy and slightly sweet, complementing the savory ground meat with a consistency suitable for sandwich filling. Using the Instant Pot simplifies the cooking time while providing tender, well-integrated flavors.

Sloppy Joes make a casual, family-friendly meal. They can be paired with simple sides like chips or a salad for an easy dinner.

Leftovers freeze well, and doubling the recipe can provide convenient portions for meal prep or future quick dinners.
