Instant Pot Sloppy Joes
Description
Instant Pot Sloppy Joes start by sautéing onions and peppers in oil, followed by browning ground beef with garlic. After deglazing the pot with water and apple cider vinegar, a combination of tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Italian seasoning, and tamari soy sauce is added. The mixture cooks under high pressure for 5 minutes, with a natural pressure release ensuring tender, flavorful meat sauce with a thick consistency.
The cooked filling is spooned onto toasted burger buns or alternatively served wrapped in whole wheat wraps. The use of lean ground beef reduces excess fat, and tamari soy sauce gives the dish additional umami richness. The recipe can be customized with added heat if desired.
For storage, keep leftovers refrigerated in an airtight container for up to three days. The recipe balances savory, sweet, and tangy components for a well-rounded sloppy joe experience made efficiently in an Instant Pot.
