Instant Pot Stick of Butter Rice
Description
This recipe combines long-grain white or brown rice with chicken broth, an onion soup mix, and an entire stick of unsalted butter into the Instant Pot for pressure cooking. The broth and soup mix infuse the rice with a savory depth, while the butter melts through the grains creating a rich, smooth texture. Cooking under high pressure for five minutes followed by a natural release allows even hydration and fluffiness without drying out the rice.
The resulting rice is tender but separate, with a buttery aroma and pronounced onion flavor from the seasoning. This makes it a versatile accompaniment suitable for pairing with proteins like chicken, beef, or vegetables.
The simplicity of combining all ingredients in one pot and the hands-off pressure cooking make it a practical recipe for busy cooks seeking comfort and flavor with minimal effort. Fluffing the rice after cooking enhances the texture before serving.
