Instant Pot Sweet Potatoes
Description
Instant Pot Sweet Potatoes are prepared by washing medium-sized potatoes and placing them on a steaming trivet inside the Instant Pot with water below. The high-pressure cooking for 10 to 15 minutes softens the sweet potatoes throughout, followed by a natural release phase to retain moisture. This technique locks in sweetness and produces a tender texture ideal for slicing open and serving.
The recipe encourages customization with toppings ranging from simple butter and seasoning to whipped flavored butters, nuts, and mini marshmallows toasted under the broiler to mimic sweet potato casserole flavors. This versatility allows the dish to serve as a side or a standalone snack.
Leftovers can be refrigerated up to 5 days, making meal prep convenient. The recipe notes highlight options to embellish the sweet potatoes with additional fresh herbs like parsley or chives for color and flavor contrast, or to adapt topping combinations to personal preferences or occasion needs.
