Italian Chopped Salad Sandwich

A fresh and delicious chopped salad, complete with several meats, cheeses, and vegetables, tossed with a zippy creamy Italian dressing, and served in soft hoagie rolls.

Ingredients

Servings

Salad sandwich

  • 2 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 4 lices ham deli-sliced
  • 4 lices salami
  • 4 lices pepperoni large
  • 4 lices provolone cheese
  • 4 lices tomato
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onions
  • 1/4 cup banana pepper pepperoncini rings will also work well, rings
  • 4 hoagie roll

Creamy Italian dressing

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning dried

Instructions

Chop

  1. Add the lettuce, ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone, tomato, red onion, and banana peppers to a large cutting board.
  2. Use a sharp knife to chop everything into small bite-sized pieces, mixing and tossing as you go.

Add dressing

  1. To the chopped salad, add the mayonnaise and red wine vinegar, then sprinkle the Italian seasoning over the top.
  2. Use the knife to mix and toss everything until the dressing is combined with the salad.

Add to rolls and serve

  1. Divide salad evenly among the hoagie rolls and serve immediately.

Notes

  • I've estimated this will serve 4, but please feel free to divide the salad up into as many servings as you'd like.
