Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1/2 onion chopped
  • Garlic Salt and Italian Seasoning
  • 1 Zucchini diced small
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Italian cheese blend (6 oz)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet.
  2. Add onions, diced zucchini, garlic salt, and Italian seasoning (Just sprinkle some in)
  3. Cook until soft.
  4. Stir in the canned of crushed tomatoes.
  5. Separate dough into 8 triangles. Place dough in ungreased 9-inch glass pie plate in spoke pattern, with narrow tips overlapping rim of plate about 3 inches. Press dough in the sides and bottom to form crust.
  6. Spoon the entire meat mixture into the pan.
  7. Top with cheese.
  8. Pull the dough over the meat mixture.
  9. Bake at 375°F for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Notes

  • Do not let the vegetables scare you from trying this recipe. My kids do not even notice them. They add a ton of flavor and it’s a great way to sneak them in. I have also added squash, carrots and green pepper.
