Italian Green Beans
Description
Italian Green Beans blends frozen green beans with a rich topping of butter, garlic, Italian seasoning, bread crumbs, and Parmesan cheese. The bread crumbs are gently toasted in butter with garlic and seasoning until golden brown, providing a nutty, crunchy contrast to the tender beans. The frozen beans are cooked until just tender, then mixed with the seasoned crumbs to coat them well and bring out a layered flavor.
The seasoning of salt and ground black pepper is adjusted to taste, enhancing the overall dish without overpowering the delicate green beans. This dish works well alongside meat or fish, adding a buttery, herbaceous note and a pleasing mouthfeel from the crunchy topping.
For ease, the green beans can be steamed in a bag or boiled, providing options based on time and available kitchen tools. This dish serves about five, making it practical for family meals.
