Ingredients

Servings
  • 10 lices Bacon chopped
  • 16 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese grated sharp
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese grated
  • 3 whole jalapeños finely diced (ribs and seeds removed)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin ground
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • parsley optional, finely diced, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a baking dish with nonstick spray and set aside.
  2. Start by cooking the bacon. You can place the chopped bacon in a skillet until cooked through and drained on a paper towel lined plate, or bake it in the oven.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the bacon, cream cheese, mayo, sour cream, the cheddar, jalapenos, 1/4 cup parmesan, garlic powder, ground cumin, and onion powder. Mix until it's fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, breadcrumbs, and remaining Parmesan until the breadcrumbs are fully coated.
  5. Pour the cheese mixture into the baking dish and spread out evenly.
  6. Top the cheese mixture with an even layer of the breadcrumb mixture.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
  8. Turn the oven to broil and broil for 2-3 minutes, just until the breadcrumbs are browned.
  9. Remove from the oven and serve with your favorite dippers.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated cheese. Pre-shredded cheese has an anti-caking agent on it that prevents it from melting as well.
  • If you want to get a nice browned top let it broil after baking for about 1-2 minutes.
  • To make this spicier, leave the ribs and seeds in. You can also add additional jalapenos for extra spice.
