Jalapeno Hummus

Jalapeno Hummus blends creamy garbanzo beans with fresh cilantro, jalapeno peppers, tahini, and lemon to create a subtly spicy and citrusy dip. The addition of garlic and olive oil smooths the texture while imparting a rich, savory flavor. This hummus offers a fresh twist on classic hummus, suitable for serving with pita bread or tortilla chips.

Description

This recipe begins by draining canned garbanzo beans and roughly chopping fresh cilantro, jalapenos (with seeds removed for milder heat), lemon zest, and garlic. All ingredients including lemon juice and tahini are combined in a blender and blended on low speed as olive oil is gradually drizzled in to achieve a smooth, creamy consistency.

The result is a bright, creamy spread with moderate heat from the jalapenos balanced by the citrus and nutty tahini flavor. It's simple to prepare and serves as a flavorful accompaniment to breads or vegetables.

Garnishing with chopped cilantro, sea salt flakes, and a drizzle of olive oil adds texture and visual appeal. Toasting pita bread before serving enhances the dipping experience.
