Jalapeno Parmesan Crisps
Description
The preparation begins by baking thin jalapeño slices briefly to soften and mellow their heat. Meanwhile, grated Parmesan cheese is shaped into small circles on a baking sheet and baked to crisp, golden discs. After the initial baking, a jalapeño slice is centered on each Parmesan crisp, then topped with a quarter slice of provolone cheese. Returning the assembled crisps to the oven melts the provolone and allows the layers to meld slightly.
The result is a snack combining the sharp, nutty flavor and crunch of Parmesan, the gentle spicy bite of jalapeño, and the creamy melt of provolone. These crisps offer a satisfying textural contrast and flavor balance, making them suitable as a light appetizer or snack.
Letting the crisps cool slightly before serving helps them firm up and hold their shape.
