Ingredients

Servings

For Cheese Ball

  • 16 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese additional cup for coating, shredded, 113g
  • 1 jalapeño chopped
  • 2 lices Bacon cooked and chopped (4 slices for cheese ball and coating)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

For Coating

  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded, 113g
  • ½ cup nut chopped
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 2 lices Bacon cooked and chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, chopped jalapeno, 2 slices of chopped bacon, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into a ball and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the remaining cheddar cheese, chopped nuts, chopped green onions, and remaining chopped bacon.
  4. Roll the chilled cheeseball in the coating mixture until fully covered.
  5. Serve with crackers or vegetables.

Notes

  • Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to soften, making it easy to mix and ensuring a smooth, creamy texture.
  • After shaping the cheese ball, refrigerate it for at least an hour to help it firm up and hold its shape when you roll it in the coating.
  • If you prefer nut-free swap them for crushed pretzels, crackers, or even more shredded cheese. You can also add other herbs.
  • Let the cheese ball sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before serving so it's easier to spread and dip.
  • Be creative and shape it into a log, the shape of a football, or smaller mini cheese balls for individual servings.
  • Storage – Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container or tightly wrapped in plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
