Jalapeno Popper Chicken
Description
Chicken pieces are arranged in a greased baking dish and seasoned with salt and pepper. A smooth mixture of cream cheese, milk or cream, and garlic powder is spread evenly over the chicken to add moisture and savory flavor. Diced jalapenos provide heat, complementing smoky bacon crumbles and shredded cheddar cheese layered on top.
The casserole bakes at 350°F, initially covered with foil to retain moisture and allow thorough cooking, then uncovered near the end to allow the cheese to bubble and lightly brown. The result balances tender chicken, creamy topping, spicy jalapeno pieces, and melted cheese.
This dish offers a full-flavored baked entrée where the creamy cheese and peppers mimic jalapeno popper appetizers in a hearty chicken form.
