Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and place oven rack at center position. Line a baking sheet pan with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl combine the room temperature cream cheese, cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stir until evenly combined.
- Open the tube of crescent roll dough. Unroll the dough on a flat surface (ex. cutting board or kitchen counter). Slice each pre-cut crescent roll into thirds so that you have 24 pieces of dough.
- Slice the jalapenos in half and remove the seeds and white ribs that the seeds grow on inside of the pepper. Slice the peppers again in half or in thirds depending on the size of the pepper, you want each piece of pepper to be roughly the same length as the cocktail sausage. Stuff each piece of jalapeno with a spoonful of the prepared cheese mixture.
- Place one cocktail sausage (little smokie, or cut hotdog) on top of each stuffed jalapeno and gently press to stick to the cheese mixture.
- Place each stuffed jalapeno on the widest side of a piece of crescent dough and roll the dough around. Press gently to seal. Place each prepared pig in a blanket on the prepared baking sheet placed 2" apart, seam side down.Tip: when wrapping the dough, stretch the end of the dough to ensure that the end is at the bottom of each pig in a blanket so it does not unroll while baking.
- Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melty.
- Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy!
Notes
- You can swap the crescent rolls for store bought frozen puff pastry if you prefer. Allow the puff pastry to thaw at room temperature. Once fully thawed, unroll the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Cut the dough into 24 even pieces.
